Rebecca Gallantree
Sport: Diving

Rebecca started diving at the age of seven in her home town of Chelmsford, Essex, before moving north in 2002 to study Sports Science at the University of Leeds. She has competed in three Olympic Games: Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.

Rebecca has also competed in three Commonwealth Games,  and won a gold medal in the 3m synchronised event with partner Alicia Blagg in 2014. In 2015, Rebecca partnered up with Tom Daley in the new ‘team event’, where they became World Champions. More recently, at the 2016 European Championships, Rebecca and Alicia won a silver medal in front of a home crowd, with a British record score.

After retiring from diving in January 2017, Rebecca enjoyed five months of travelling in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. She is now coaching at the City of Leeds Diving Club and using her experience in elite sport to inspire and motivate children in schools throughout the north.
