Mintridge Bronze Netball Programme with Georgia Lees, Millfield Prep School, September 2019

Team Mintridge had an exciting afternoon of netball in store for the students at Millfield Prep School, as we visited them with our superstar Saracens Mavericks Superleague netball player Georgia Lees!

After a warm wlecome from the staff and students, Georgia introduced some fun warm up activities for the prep school students, that would work on their overall attacking movement and passing. It was so great to see all of the students enjoying their session with Georgia and asking her lots of questions throughout the afternoon!

As the afternoon progressed Georgia introduced some top centre pass drills, skills and tips to develop the centre court players and learn how to attack the goal at speed.

Just like all of our Mintridge Programmes at the end of each of the sessions the pupils had the chance to have their photo taken with Georgia and receive a signed autograph card from her. Georgia also selected some pupils throughout the day to receive a medal and certificate from her, for their hard work and effort throughout the sessions.

It was an afternoon of high fives, smiles and fun for the Team Mintridge and the Millfield Prep School Students. The students also asked some brilliant questions for Georgia during their inspirational presentation, where Georgia talked all about her sporting journey and the levels of motivation, resilience and perseverance it has taken in order for her to reach the top of her game.

As a Superleague netballer and also a trainee Doctor, Georgia gave an incredibly inspiring presentation, that included some excellent words of advice focussed on managing your time, studies and creating a well organised and well managed routine so you can take part in both your sport and other activities. Some of the best questions we heard were:

Are there certain players that you find are more difficult to play against?

What has been your greatest achievement?

How old were you when you started playing?

Did the area you grew up in help you get selected when playing?

Thank you again to Millfield Prep School for welcoming Team Mintridge to spend the afternoon with you. If you would like to see the photos and video from the afternoon, please contact the staff at Millfield Prep School.

We look forward to working with you again soon.

Thanks

Team Mintridge
