Mintridge Bronze Presentation Programme with Pamela Cookey at Clifton High School, in Collaboration with Squadkit, March 2019

On the evening of Thursday the 7th March, Team Mintridge and Pamela Cookey were invited to attend an exciting evening of awards and celebrations, at Clifton High School in Bristol with our partners Squadkit.

It was down to be a night to remember for the staff, students and parents, as the school had arranged a wonderful sit-down meal and formal presentation, to celebrate the successful year of sport they have had so far. It was also very exciting as our brilliant netball Ambassador and Ex England netball captain Pamela Cookey was able to present the awards alongside the Harlem Globetrotters tallest ever basketball player Paul Sturgess.

As numerous awards winners were welcomed to the stage to receive their awards, it was so great to hear each of them speak personally about the amazing sporting experiences they have had, during their time at Clifton High School. As part of the speeches delivered by each of the sports captains, each student gave thanks to the staff that had supported them and enabled them to train and take part in the sport they enjoyed most.

Before the netball awards were presented, our Mintridge Ambassador Pamela Cookey, delivered an inspirational presentation about her journey into netball and the highs and lows of sport. As well as this Pamela highlighted the importance of education and sport and the value in having them both, what she explained as her ‘double life’. It was a particularly relevant presentation for the students who were going on to university and leaving their school sport, to pursue their careers. We wish them luck and we hope they continue to balance work and sport throughout their lives.

Towards the end of the evening the staff and students took the opportunity to have photographs with Pamela and use the Mintridge Twitter props to have fun with their friends. Every student also received an autograph card signed by Pamela to take away and add to their collection of awards.

We are extremely grateful to Clifton High School for welcoming Team Mintridge and Squadkit to their awards evening. We had a fantastic evening celebrating with you all.

If you would like to see the photos or video from the evening, please contact the staff at Clifton High School.

We look forward to working with you again soon.

Team Mintridge
