Mintridge Bronze Programme with Eboni Usoro – Brown, Stonar Sport & Riding Awards in Association with Squadkit, June 2019

The sun decided to come out to play for the Stonar School Sport & Riding Awards and what a wonderful evening it was. England Netballer and Mintridge Ambassador, Eboni Usoro – Brown took some time out of England Camp as the team prepare for the highly anticipated World Cup next month to make her way to the beautiful setting of Stonar School in Wiltshire as part of Mintridge’s partnership with Squadkit.

Greeted by wonderful staff, Eboni made her way to the lawn for a Drinks Reception where she was able to meet some rather starstruck students and parents to chat about some of the highlights of her career to date including THAT gold medal at the Commonwealth Games last year. Eboni loved hearing about what the students have planned for a sporting summer coming up.

Before long it was time to make our way into the hall for the Reports, Awards and of course an inspirational presentation from Eboni herself. Each Captain spoke passionately about their seasons and we particularly loved hearing reports from the stables as this is such a unique offer from other Mintridge schools!

The very elegant Eboni soon took to the stage to share her netballing journey from the U12 County Championships to each of her 96 international caps and what a journey it was! “You have to have a goal and you have to have a purpose!” was the key message from the Team Bath Captain and this was instilled into each student.

Next on the agenda, Eboni presented each of the awards from Sports Personality of the Year, Team of the Year, Most Improved Player and Player of the Year across all sports and year groups – what an array of talent across such a diverse group of sports. Well done to each and every winner.

Dinner was served, which, by the way, was DELCIOUS and we won’t mention any teachers that might have accidentally poured milk on their dessert!

Eboni is never one to shy away from the camera and she made plenty of time at the end of the evening to pose for photographs as well as sign a multitude of autographs – the perfect end to a perfect evening!

Thank you very much to the Stonar staff for making us feel so welcome and of course our partners at Squadkit for making the evening possible! We look forward to working with you all again soon.
