THE ANNA HORRELL AWARD

The Anna Horrell Award has been created by the Mintridge team in memory of Anna who was incredibly influential and encouraging to the sporting endeavours of so many young people, including our Director, Alex Wallace. We hope that this award is a way to remember Anna in the most positive way to reflect her amazing qualities.

Each academic year the Anna Horrell Award is presented to an individual, or group of individuals, that has demonstrated to one of our elite athlete ambassadors a proactive nature and infectious enthusiasm throughout their programme and has shown great potential in their chosen sport.

I have to admit, there was a bit of a bottom lip wobble when I found out (about Charlie winning the Anna Horrell Award).
The mentoring that Charlie was given & engaged in was amazing and a once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m so glad that he was able to engage in the way that he did and the fact you’ve created an award to recognise mentees like this is even more incredible.

Well what can I say, we are absolutely thrilled that you have chosen Charlie for this amazing award. Very proud parents indeed!

Charlie has really enjoyed the whole mentor process and has created quite a relationship with George - a natural and relaxed friendship by the end.

Thank you for such an amazing opportunity for Charlie.

I can definitely say this means so much to us as a family, we are incredibly proud of him. His dedication and focus for rugby is unbelievable.

The mentoring has been a real journey, the Mintridge team are a real force!

Thank you so much Liz! You have helped me so much and you have really given me such valuable advice that is not just going to help me with badminton, but I will also be able to apply in so many different aspects in my life. I really appreciate all the time you have spent talking to me, it was really easy to open up and be honest with you. I found each session really focused and they always addressed things that were linked to my targets. I can already see such huge changes in my mindset and I’m sure that when I can get back on court I’ll see huge improvements too.
