OUR PROGRAMMES

Mintridge programmes use the power of athlete role models to inspire, support and empower young people. Through assemblies, coaching, workshops, mentoring and inclusive sport, our Athlete Ambassadors help young people build confidence, resilience, self-belief and motivation, while improving physical activity, mental wellbeing and aspirations for the future.

Our programmes are designed to be engaging, inclusive and accessible for all young people, particularly those who may face barriers to sport, wellbeing support or positive role models. By combining inspiring personal stories with practical activities and reflection, we help young people recognise their strengths, develop transferable life skills and take positive steps in school, sport and everyday life.

TEST

Our Bronze Programme is a one-day, Athlete Ambassador led school experience designed to inspire young people to get active, build confidence and strengthen their mental wellbeing. Through the power of positive athlete role models, pupils are encouraged to develop resilience, self-belief and aspirations for the future.

The day includes an inspirational assembly where pupils hear first-hand about overcoming challenges, setting goals and staying motivated. Young people then take part in sports sessions focused on confidence, wellbeing, personal development and transferable life skills.

The programmes are designed to engage every pupil, regardless of ability or previous experience. Time for discussion and reflection helps pupils recognise their own strengths, explore new opportunities and understand how sport can support their wellbeing both in and beyond school.

To encourage lasting impact, each Bronze Programme includes signposting to local sports clubs and community opportunities, helping young people continue their journey towards sustained participation in physical activity.

BRONZE PROGRAMME

2)	Coaching sessions to kickstart a healthy sporting journey or to help nurture an existing pathway.

In addition to the Bronze Programme:

To ensure the greatest legacy and to offer continued support for mental and physical fitness, two students will have the opportunity to be mentored remotely by one Ambassador for a period of six months following the Bronze programme.

Mintridge will work with the school staff to match the mentor and mentee. This has positive repercussions on their peers. The experience ensures both parties leave enriched and inspired.

Direct communication access between the Mintridge Ambassador and mentee or organisation staff (Mintridge safeguarding policy applies) for six months (one call per fortnight).

SILVER PROGRAMME

In addition to the Bronze and Silver Programme:

One parent/carer and staff member with each mentee receives tickets to watch their Ambassador compete and get behind-the-scenes access at a live sports fixture to showcase the power and opportunities of sport, as well as enabling more in-person time to ensure an even greater level of support.

Mentee travel, catering and goody bags included.

GOLD PROGRAMME

Our Athlete Ambassadors can focus on specific themes to support your students in a way closely aligned to your needs.

For example we can design programmes to promote girls participation in sport, wellbeing, SEND, cultural days e.g. Black History, religion, languages, celebratory days e.g. Olympics/Paralympics, sports scholar programmes and programmes specific to your own school values.

THEMED/BESPOKE PROGRAMMES

Our Mintridge webinars bring the power of athlete role models directly into classrooms, assemblies and learning spaces - wherever young people are. Designed to be engaging, interactive and accessible, each webinar gives pupils the opportunity to hear first-hand from an inspiring Athlete Ambassador about their sporting journey, the challenges they have overcome and the lessons they have learned along the way.

Through honest storytelling, guided discussion and practical wellbeing themes, our webinars help young people explore confidence, resilience, motivation, goal setting and positive mental wellbeing.

Sessions are designed to support pupils in recognising their own strengths, developing self-belief and understanding how the skills used in sport can be transferred into everyday life.

WEBINARS

Bring inspiration, energy and powerful storytelling to your sports awards, celebration evening or special event with a Mintridge Athlete Ambassador.

Our Athlete Ambassadors are experienced, engaging speakers who use their personal journeys in sport to motivate young people, families, staff and wider school communities. Through honest and relatable stories of setbacks, resilience, self-belief and success, they help audiences understand the value of confidence, determination, teamwork and aspiration.

Whether presenting awards, delivering a keynote speech or taking part in a Q&A, our Athlete Ambassadors add a memorable and meaningful element to any event. Their presence helps celebrate achievement while also encouraging young people to recognise their own potential - both in sport and beyond.

Each appearance can be tailored to suit the tone, theme and audience of your event, from formal awards evenings and school celebration assemblies to sports dinners, community events and leadership days.

HOW & WHY WE HELP

By giving people the confidence to move, they will find the confidence to shine and overcome life’s challenges.

The Mintridge Foundation harnesses the unique platform of sporting role models.  Our team of Ambassadors  - Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports, both team and individual deliver holistic sports provision in schools, clubs and colleges across the UK for young people from all walks of life, of all abilities and physical capabilities.

In a world of superficial social media presence, increasing sedentary lifestyles, a mental health epidemic and the long-reaching impact of Covid - 19, young people need to see a greater variety of sporting role models. Young people need the Mintridge Foundation more than ever.

60% of girls aged 11-17 believe an inspirational role model is the best way to kick-start a sporting journey*

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Our programmes change lives, and we are always thrilled to learn just how far-reaching and positive the outcomes can be, demonstrating the incredible power of sport, from a mentee’s selection to represent Great Britain in their chosen field to enabling disabled children to find confidence and happiness through participation. Equally, we have helped rebuild families and given young girls the confidence to own their own stage!

By bridging a gap and sprinkling the Mintridge magic, we are helping young people see what they can be, and that possibilities really are endless.

Each child has a unique journey. Mintridge Ambassadors help young people live well and develop mental and physical fitness superpowers.

Sports stars have an incredible ability to ignite a fire within the young people they work with. Mintridge athletes, previously only seen on television, stand in front of students in person, give their time, expertise and advice. This makes the students feel special, they truly listen to the athletes in a different way to many other adults in their lives. Someone important is giving up their time for them, someone relatable.
