LEON GREENWOOD

BOBSLEIGH

Leon Greenwood is a bobsleigh athlete representing Great Britain, currently competing as a brakeman on the international stage. Originally a 100m and 200m sprinter from the small town of Batley, West Yorkshire, Leon is a former Welsh 200m Champion who transitioned from track to ice with purpose and determination.

His journey into elite sport has been anything but linear. In 2020, Leon was told he would never run again following a serious injury. Refusing to accept that outcome, he spent two years rebuilding. In 2022, he earned his place in the GB bobsleigh team after a successful trial - only to break his toe the very next day, putting him out for an entire season.

Undeterred, Leon returned in 2023/24 and earned his first-ever World Cup bronze medal. He followed this up with a breakthrough 2024/25 season, winning multiple World Cup medals, including a Gold, an Overall Crystal Global Bronze, and a Bronze at the European Championships.

Off the ice, Leon runs a successful online coaching business, supporting people to take back control of their health and rebuild strong foundations in their life. A former police officer, he brings discipline, perspective, and leadership into every aspect of his work.

As a motivational speaker, Leon shares his story to inspire others - especially young people. He speaks openly about overcoming setbacks, building mental resilience, and staying focused under pressure.

Obstacles will come - but how you respond is everything.
