Minty's Little Big Hero - Nominate a Worthy Young Cricketer Today!

Minty is searching for a Little Big Hero!

Do you know a worthy young person, 16 or under who has demonstrated accountability, commitment and other International Cricket Council Values throughout the pandemic?

We have all experienced an incredibly difficult year due to the Covid – 19 Pandemic. Young people are arguably going to be the most affected generation and together with Little Big Sports, the Mintridge Foundation is determined to change that narrative. Here’s how...

We would love to hear from you; the parents, carers, coaches, teachers and teammates. We want to hear all about the young people that have showcased positivity and some of the International Cricket Council values; fairness, integrity, excellence, accountability, teamwork, respect for diversity OR commitment to the global game and its great spirit.

We will showcase the best stories on our online platforms and the best of all is that two lucky and very worthy winners will receive three months of remote mentoring in a safeguarded environment with ex Scotland International, Olivia Rae and a Little Big Sports Feed Buddy to support them in their cricketing journey and leave a lasting legacy for these individuals.

What are you waiting for?

This opportunity is open to young people across the entire UK, so please pass this information on to teachers, coaches, local clubs. You name it, we would love to hear from them. We would be very grateful for you passing this information on.

We would love to hear real life examples of the ICC Values in action!

Whatever your reason, we would love to hear it. Nominate your worthy Little Big Hero below!

ENTRIES CLOSE AT 09:00 ON MONDAY 3RD MAY 2021.

Little Big Sports is a business that is passionate about children playing and enjoying sport. It is their aim to play a part in making sport and activity a normal and fun part of as many children's lives as possible.

Partnering with the Mintridge Foundation is a wonderful opportunity for Little Big Sports to help support young people in their sporting journey through mentoring as well as providing sports equipment. It is the hope that this programme will leave a lasting legacy and positively influence young lives.

Little Big Sports was set up by Katie Malkinson, ten years ago, when she identified a gap in the market for a retailer specialising in sports equipment for children. She launched www.littlebigsports.co.uk to help parents find the best equipment for their children to facilitate them being active whilst learning the fundamentals of the sport.

Award winning, Little Big Sports, sells sports equipment designed with children in mind across a multitude of sports including football, rugby, cricket, tennis and hockey with more equipment being added regularly to keep up with sporting trends and demand.   Katie’s own experiences with her son and daughter have been the catalyst for many of the products the retailer stocks.

Katie’s focus on customer service and her in-depth knowledge of the products means that she has many returning customers across the UK and consistently excellent feedback.

The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to enhancing life skills in young people through sport. We provide a support network for young people by harnessing the power of positive sporting role models. The Mintridge Foundation assists young people of all ages, abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence and resilience, and creates awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through sport.

Our team of Ambassadors  - Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports, both team and individual - work with young people in schools, clubs and academies across the UK. Starting with visits including assemblies, coaching clinics and classroom sessions tailored to each organisation’s requirements, our ambassadors can then provide one- on- one remote mentoring in a safeguarded environment, delivered via technology such as Fitswarm and Playwaze to build a lasting legacy for individuals.

The Mintridge Foundation’s successes demonstrate the incredible power of sport; from a mentee’s selection to represent Great Britain in their chosen field to enabling disabled children to find confidence and happiness just through participation. Understanding life after sport, we also support our Ambassadors in their transition from active sport to the next stage of their careers.
