Crazy Catch - They’re a catch!

Sometimes the simplest things are the most effective and, upon first impressions, Crazy Catch is a simple piece of kit, a rebound net to be used in training. It is a credit to Crazy Catch that their products seem so simple because, upon closer inspection, their easy-to-use nets are a masterpiece in design and functionality.

We don’t wish to blow our own trumpets, but we think our partnership is a masterpiece in simplicity, design and functionality too. For us, Crazy Catch are the perfect corporate partners and it demonstrates how we can work with other companies in the industry with the same aims and values as us.

Crazy Catch engage with us as a charity, have been along to provide training and to get to know our ambassadors at our CPD sessions, provide us with their fantastic products which are invaluable to our programmes (we’ll get to that bit later) and they support us through a customer code (MINTRIDGE5), which gives us a donation each time it is used.

In return, we help them to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility in a way that is directly linked to their aims and values. Not only that but, as a small charity, their employees have the opportunity to get involved and directly see the impact that they are having on getting children active in a fun and exciting way.

INSANE UNPREDICTABLE BALL RETURN….

UNIQUE SPORTING EQUIPMENT….

RAPID SKILL DEVELOPMENT….

UNLIMITED HEALTHY FUN….

We use our Crazy Catch equipment on almost all our programmes. As we said, the idea is simple, a rebound net to use in training. However, their ‘insane’ unpredictable rebound technology can be used to keep you on your toes, not knowing which direction the ball will go in next (with many of their products featuring both sane- predictable- and insane nets), and the different designs can be used on the ground or held by a ‘coach’.

The nets can be used for rugby, football, netball, cricket, hockey… pretty much any ball game. We had a great time making up Crazy Catch games all of our own and our ambassadors have been able to use them to teach specific skills for different ball games. Take a look at their website for more information about their products and how they can be used in different sports and for teaching different skills (don’t forget to use our MINTRIDGE5 code if you decide to buy anything).

Their products help us and our ambassadors to keep our programmes active, fast paced and engaging. The different ‘sane’ and ‘insane’ nets make it easy for our ambassadors to differentiate activities for children of different attainment levels (or get the children to differentiate and challenge themselves) and the ability for children to be the one in their pair or group holding the net (thus becoming the ‘coach’) means that they can all be active and peer coach each other.

We’d love to say that we came up with all of the ideas for how to use Crazy Catch ourselves, but we were fortunate enough to have the Crazy Catch team come along to our ambassador training to show them how it works and give them some ideas… it might have got a little competitive! At Mintridge, we love it when our partners want to get involved in what we do and it’s great for those at Crazy Catch to see the results of our partnership and their Corporate Social Responsibility first-hand.

Like all partnerships, ours is ever evolving and growing. Crazy Catch jumped at the opportunity to support our #28NOTOUT campaign and are planning to run a Crazy Catch cricket challenge on 10th July. Minty, the Mintridge Bear, has also been holding lots of top-secret meetings with the team at Crazy Catch about a upcoming venture together.

If you would like to work alongside the Mintridge Foundation to champion a shared aim or objective or if you have opportunities within your business’ corporate social responsibility, we would love to hear from you.  Please contact Alex Wallace if you would like to discuss more at alex@mintridge.org.uk.
