Try Time: Grace Moore Brings Rugby Magic to Alderbrook Primary School

Following the recent Women’s Six Nations, Ealing Trailfinders and Irish Rugby star Grace Moore swapped the pitch for the playground to share skills, stories, and serious rugby fun with the pupils of Alderbrook Primary School on Friday 2nd May 2025.

On a scorching hot day for early May, the playground buzzed with excitement as Alderbrook Primary welcomed a very special guest — Irish international and Ealing Trailfinders powerhouse Grace Moore. With rugby balls flying and young faces beaming, Grace brought a burst of sporting magic to the school. From mini training sessions for each year group to Q&A huddles, the visit was more than just a fun day — it sparked ambition, built confidence, and gave pupils a real taste of teamwork and determination straight from the heart of professional rugby.

During her whole school assembly, Grace talked about the importance of sport and encouraging students to spend less time looking at screens and more time doing physical activity. We are firm believers in that here at Mintridge HQ following recent Sport England Data which demonstrates the long-term impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on children and young people’s relationship with sport and physical activity.  Children who were in nursery to school Year 4 (ages 4-9) when the pandemic struck in 2020 have been particularly disadvantaged and we hope that aspirational encounters like this can really help.

Questions and photos happened at the end of each coaching session with some great questions:

Are you taught to tackle?
How many games have you played?

Thank you once again to Alderbrook for inviting us back and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
