Stick Skills & Sunshine: Lorna Mackenzie Brings The Hockey Fun To Hazel Leys Academy!
Yesterday, on a gloriously sunny spring day, Team Mintridge was warmly welcomed back to Hazel Leys Academy (part of the Greenwood Academies Trust) with Reading Hockey Club and England Hockey Player Lorna Mackenzie.
Sharing how hockey has given her opportunities that she might not otherwise have had through her empowering presentation to the whole school, we know she will have ignited a fire within so many of the children to seek their own opportunities!
The day saw each year group enjoy an introductory hockey session, and while we can't always promise the sunshine during a game, we can promise fun and enjoyment for all involved!
A classroom session for Year 4 allowed extra time for some questions from the group!
“What’s your favourite food?”
“What type of car do you have?”
“What’s your favourite country that you’ve played in?”
Thank you again to Hazel Leys and we look forward to seeing you again soon with the one and only Heather Fell OLY!
