Conversations of Attitude, Belief & Courage - Paralympic Champion, Emma Wiggs MBE Visits East Hunsbury Primary School in Northampton

On Tuesday 10th June, Team Mintridge made their first visit to East Hunsbury Primary School with Emma Wiggs MBE, a Paralympic Legend (Triple Paralympic Champion), 12 x World Champion in Paracanoe and Mintridge Foundation Ambassador.  The whole school received an empowering presentation from Emma about her journey where she shared her very important ABC:

Attitude

Belief

Courage

Some lucky children were invited up to the front with Emma to search inside Emma’s kit bag! Items ranged from GB clothing to an empty egg box.  The children were shocked to discover that Emma eats 36 eggs a week!

Following the assembly, Emma followed on with a more intimate ‘Meet and Greet’ with Sports Leaders and members of the “This Girl Can” Run Club.  The students had some excellent questions and we know that everyone left feeling empowered with what they could take on thanks to Emma’s extraordinary insight.

Were you ever told you can’t do something?
Is your disability curable?
How hard was it getting used to a wheelchair?
What upset you most when you got your virus?

Emma handed out certificates and autographs to this group before we said a big thank you to East Hunsbury. Thank you to everyone at East Hunsbury Primary School for giving Team Mintridge such a warm welcome.
